Somebody needs to buy the new JHS NOTADUMBLE and trace the "A box later" side of the circuit. Apparently JHS traced Mayer's original unit :D

I'm gonna use it to hold the caps to the board in my 124 build lmao (if it's suitable)

That's the plan here :-)

It's kinda funny, if you watch the video (https://youtu.be/n9wNpgWJhYo?si=8whdWRmtI36zh45J&t=210), a few things stand out to me.
  • The original Dumble unit is not a JFET boost based on our gut shots (Thanks, Gil!) Perhaps he means a JFET input Op Amp? Or did he actually just take a FET boost and put it in the pedal
  • The JHS is only 9v input. From what I've seen from videos putting it together, I didn't recall seeing a boost so it's the bi polar supply like the original
  • I noticed when I built my circuit, the "return" knob would thin out the tone quote a bit. It wasn't until this video that verified that I'm not crazy and/or my educated guess was not wrong with the circuit
  • I wouldn't put it past Mayer to request that it's not exactly the same circuit. Too many examples of being thrown off the trail to truth with his gear
  • Josh said the original Dumble labeling is Input & Output but it's actually Gain & Recovery on the exact unit he screen shots before
Uploading my latest schematic. I did a few extras to keep the pedal quiet, lots of headroom, and tweakable.
I did a big blog post too https://www.thetonegeek.com/single-post ... or-fx-loop

Any plans to reissue the PCB/kit sale? I could do with one

Yup! I have been very slow proving out the v2 design (too slow, I guess!) and it works better than I thought! I'm trying to wait until the tariffs cool off before ordering v2 boards from JLCPCB but grabbing onto this momentum might make the investment worth while...

I thought tarifs will affect things over $800 only? Its hell of a PCB sets for over $800

An idea i humbly offer up: when you get your hands on the JHS you can figure out how to convert it into a proper 4 jack box a later and sell mods perhaps? IDK but If I had known yours was in V2 development I wouldn't have bought the JHS. If you can find a way to do it without ordering more PCB's that would be a way to ride the momentum!

De Minimus is the $800 threshold and that is gone now as of May 2nd. That's why Temu and the like are raising prices if shipped directly from China.

In a way, I'm hoping the Chinese can just clone my pedals so I can focus on something else haha

This is a good idea. Once I get mine in I'll see if there is room to do such a mod. There is a lot of folks asking for a foot switchable option between clean and dirty channel too.
