It seems like they have to to protect the Dumble trademark.

It kinda feels like they are trying to make a profit out of the situation.
Especially comes that way when they push the players to try and compare the originals with the “new” one.

Yeah but dId you catch a glimpse of the photo of him above the marshall amp? I hope someone has a photo of that up close. Would love to see more photos of Mr. Dumble doing what he did best. Their explanations do not sound like this at all. Especially when they have a boot at NAMM with their new amps.
Re: So They Are Really Building New Amps Under Dumble Name
They are just trying to have it both ways...meet the legal standard to use the IP so it may be defended AND respect HAD's legacy and wishes. What Andy describes surely would not hold up through litigation but perhaps it is enough that most offending companies won't want to engage in that sort of expensive legal battle to prove it.
I think they know what we all know, these new amps are not real Dumbles. Like the new Trainwrecks are not real Trainwrecks. It's not the same as Leo leaving Fender or Marshall being sold. Dumble has always been soup to nuts bespoke amp building by the man himself for one specific guitar player who ordered that one amp. The "preservation society" side of the business to verify amps as legitimate and provide service with corresponding parts, etc. is the most interesting part of all of this in my humble opinion.

Interesting that they brought a new-made amp to play and compare with the originals. If they make and sell a few that will strengthen their legal position, no? I agree that HAD's skill and ear for tweaking can't be replaced, but as usual I'm not convinced that there is any magic in the stash of old parts they mentioned.

With regard to the numerous Dumble products that the Roy brothers imported to Europe from the mid-70s to the mid-80s and distributed there on Alexander's behalf, contact with the musicians was naturally mediated via the Roy brothers and the retailers they supplied. More on this (including some perhaps lesser-known pictures

I would like to take this opportunity to raise my glass and wish everyone here a great year 2025!

Great to see you posting again! Also a point well made, I over generalized a bit.
For whatever it's worth, they said the new amps was built with all new parts. The old parts stash sounded like it was only for service for amps built with those same parts type where possible.martin manning wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2025 5:13 pm Interesting that they brought a new-made amp to play and compare with the originals.
