New ods124 but have a problem
Hi everyone, first let me just say I appreciate the amp garage community immensely, I am a beginner somewhat, I built the amp but it definitely has an issue I can’t resolve, please watch the video I hope it explains everything well and you can see how it reacts with the current limiter. Thank you

I was having a hard time uploading a video so I broke it down in 2 parts and with a shot of my build

So I reworked my bias pot connection and I have about-35 dc volts on my control grid, but I’m still getting severe tremolo (fast oscillation) and from what I can read on my current limiter it is drawing 30 volts to ground

You might have to swap the OT primary connections.Garveyte01 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 01, 2025 3:35 am So I reworked my bias pot connection and I have about-35 dc volts on my control grid, but I’m still getting severe tremolo (fast oscillation) and from what I can read on my current limiter it is drawing 30 volts to ground

Re: New ods124 but have a problem
That was my thought too. An easy way to test that theory is to disconnect the negative feedback lead from the OT secondary.
I hear 120 Hz buzz, maybe indicating a grounding issue. I’d also recommend a good tidying up around the preamp tubes to get it looking more like the layout.

Thank you Martin it was a grounding issue at V1, I’m so glad I found that and now it is working. I’ve learned so much doing this project and then troubleshooting my problem! I could have never done this without the Amp Garage community! Now I’m going to tidy my wiring better. Thank you
