Yeah I saw that too, but question whether that effects loop buffer is really original? Maybe in the sense that the importer installed it before selling?
The amp sounded great!

I hope you are doing well! I sent them a message and will report back if I hear anything.
Best,

Hi Ian,
I'm fine. Thanks for asking. I hope everything's going well for you too.
Thanks for contacting the importer and for keeping us updated. We'll just have to wait and see whether the Roy brothers, even after Alexander Dumble's passing, still feel bound by the some NDA they presumably agreed upon back then regarding all the details of European distribution (service, product liability, manufacturer's warranty, brand and trademark use in marketing and communication, etc.), or whether they're perhaps a bit more relaxed about it now.
Thanks again, and all the best,
Max

Mr. Roy was kind enough to message me back.
He did not speak specifically to this amp and whether HAD, Roy Brothers, or some unknown tech did the work. He recounted to me that the amp chassis designed in Santa Cruz by HAD were not suited for 4 noval tubes (seemingly in his understanding of HAD's opinion) and that if this amp had 4 noval tubes it would impact the sound of the amp. The implication in his message as I understood it was that HAD did not install the loop in this chassis and neither did Roy Bros.
He did say that they plan to share more information and photos over time on Instagram.
Best,
Dan

Re: 1978 Dumble ODS 50
In my opinion, the mere existence of the Dumblelator and the Dumblelator II shows that A. Dumble probably thought so.
With this truly kind information from the importer, it's now clear that the statement "all original" in the credits of this video is likely a mistake. The implication in his message as I understood it was that HAD did not install the loop in this chassis and neither did Roy Bros.
The fact that the Roy Bros. intend to continuously expand their presence on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/kittyhawk_dum ... s_roybros/ is also, in my opinion, welcome news. Since the Dumble Preservation Society (DPS) apparently has only rather sketchy information about the Santa Cruz era, it's nice to have contemporary witnesses like the importers who circulated a significant portion of the devices built by A. Dumble during this period. So, thank you, Ian, for the update! He did say that they plan to share more information and photos over time on Instagram.
Have a nice weekend, everyone!
Max
