Dumble 102 - Finished Amp pics

Post by frusciante89 »

Hey guys,
just wanted to share so pics of my latest build. 102 clone! Too wayyy longer than expected - life got in the way. Started it in 2022, did most of the connections but never really had the time to finish the last 10%. Finally found some time last month, and here it is! Hope you like it :D

I believe there are a whole bunch of photos already posted for this build. Search author's posts on 102. Note to Frusciante89, this is a good reason to keep all posts related to a given build in one thread. Posting a few here to go along with the exterior shots would be nice.

Great looking amp!

First time I've seen this embossed pattern on a covering. Is it Tolex?

Excellent covering there, particularly the corners. 8)

Sorry guys, was waiting for a sunny day here in London to take the pics :) there you go! The Tolex style is called "comet": https://allparts.uk.com/products/tolex- ... APiXr0hUrh
Also, transformer used are from InMadOut, Italy.

Great work.
I used those same large Green resistors on the power tube screens and the blue Sprague caps and liked them a lot.

I have been noticing the amps sound a little punchier in a good way with those blue Sprague caps in the preamp only.
I have been buying these new and using them right away for several years and I noticed the 20uf caps consistently measure a little greater in uf value as opposed to the new F&T comparable caps. This could also be a factor.

Cheers
G
