Lovin' this new amp heistl just built for me. A bit off the reservation, but mucho fun. Has two different front ends feeding the OD.

Re: Tweed tones with a D-tone spin
Very cool amp. I loved the Red Plate Swamp clip. Kinda Little Feat sounding. Nice playing! So can you switch between Tweed, Normal and OD? Or do you blend Normal and Tweed? Is it a 2x6V6 ala Fender Deluxe?

Re: Tweed tones with a D-tone spin
Its a 2 6L6 output. Probably around 40 watts (Vibrolux P.T.) The channels are separate and don't blend. Mid boost is a pull on the treble pot. Built in Loop(defeat is pull on master volume). 16.5 x 16 x 10 rear ported cabinet.
Dave - I really like the right channel clean on the Ringo tune.

Thanks Henry. That was the normal channel - no boost. Removed that clip as it is a work in progress. I'll reattach it when complete.heisthl wrote:Dave - I really like the right channel clean on the Ringo tune.
Thanks for the compliment Blindog. Loved your clip on the other thread as well.

Where's Ringo?
Henry, beautiful work as always (and in the compact package).
Dave you really know how to push that amps buttons (knob twiddlin and string pickin).
I was wondering how long the drummer could keep that groove going (Steve Gadd or loop?).
Nice job all around!

Re: Tweed tones with a D-tone spin
Thanks guys. These drum loops are from a collection called "These Drums are Loud".
I reposted that other tune - I am planning to re cut the whole thing more seriously. I like that stupid song and keep coming up with more ideas and verses for it. I'll keep the best ones in. Guitar solo still sucks

Re: Tweed tones with a D-tone spin
Cool clips - great tone!
Two things struck me other than the tone -
a) some really tasty things going on during the verse. In my band, if I fill like that through the verse, the front man gives me "the eye"
b) Ain't that just like a drummer... to disappear when you need him!

Re: Tweed tones with a D-tone spin
a belated thanks to Wayne. I lost track of this thread. And, by the way, when you're doing the singing you can play wherever you want!!
Simple clip of this amp from today. Swapped out the TonkerLite with a RWB. Much more high end than I would have thought. Strat as backing guitar into the tweed front end - 345 into the OD channel.

This amp has replaced everything as my gig amp. Wish I'd have built it.....
Thanks Henry!!

Evocative composition.
Seems like the perfect gigging amp.

Re: Tweed tones with a D-tone spin
Thanks phalanges. Last tune is not my own. Gigged with the amp Saturday with the Strat all night. Absolutely heavenly overdriven lead tones. First gig with the Stratocaster all night in ages. Man, oh man - with the amp opened up at gig volumes it kills.phalanges wrote:Evocative composition.

That's funny. No, the music doesn't put me to sleep! It was more like "a perfect ending to a perfect day"stelligan wrote:Thanks Mark. I have a new nickname... "Ambien" Dunno if I wanna be known for putting folks to sleepmarkmalin wrote:I can go to bed happy nowNice work as always.
