Because the "Style 2" has the LED on when latched and it's only a SPDT switch the LED is in series with the relay coil. The 150 ohm resistor is just redundancy in case the LED fails although it does partially split the load so I guess you could say it limits current somewhat. That value seems to allow adequate brightness with both 5 and 12 volt relays.Structo wrote:I'm not clear on what each switch offers.
I see the obvious difference with the leds on or off with the switch.
But, why do some of them have different current limiting resistors?

Thanks Henry, sorry for being dense about the switching.
I did see the different ways the leds were wired but didn't understand why they were that way.

I thought Cliff was having everything made in China now? Or some falling out with Cliff UK?heisthl wrote:Attached is a drawing of 4 styles of schematic diagrams for possible 3 button footswitches, I am working with Michael at Cliff USA to see if we can get these made. So pick which style would be the most desired for a production run and we could all benefit. Any of these would be acceptable for my purposes at RedPlateAmps, hopefully they could be manufactured with the DIN jack as part of the footswitch rather than an attached cable. Looking for input from those of you that would order quantities of 50 or more to get the initial build, after that smaller quantities could be ordered in the future.

Hey guys, not sure if you all have seen this yet.
I was looking on the weber site and noticed this pre-drilled 4 button pedal enclosure.
Very inexpensive!:D
$15.00
Sloped, black powder coat. approx. 12.25" x 2.25" x 6.25".
Has 4 holes for switches and 4 holes for LED's.
