I think you are really confused!! Brnadon never had 183. He only has pictures. The mid pot in 183 is a linear.... Interesting. Never seen one in a Skyline.
Brandon sold an Ojai to a customer who (I believe) irrationally wanted a slower taper than the 100KB pot for the OD. Shad put in a 100K audio taper. I have never ever preferred a 100K audio. Tried them. Not for me. Besides, it has zero effect on tone (other than the possible degradation due to less element on the audio taper, they are lower rated on the power). A pot is a pot. I run mine at 9 to 11 with the linear. So, a 15% audio woudl be running at 3 oclock? What's the point other than a Spinal Tap it goes to 11 moment....

Please note that 183 has a 30% taper 250K treble pot and a 250K linear! midrange pot.
Ok, So Shad changed the 250KB middle pot (in Brandon's picture) to a 250K lin. ....
But as the picture posted by Brandon shows the inside of this "green light - green switches" amp, this cannot be from 1982. I have never heard of, or have seen myself or on pictures, such a "three part - wooden sides" chassis from the early eighties.
Has someone an explanation for this obvious contradiction?
Perhaps RF does not want to impart in this interview, that he has this Dumble (green light, green switches) since 1982 but - a Dumble?
But then, what does his first one look like? Is it this one with the Vox grill cloth:
And if so and this "Vox grill ODS" really should be his first ODS from 1982, does he still own and use it (and by this had perhaps at least four ODS amps at hand when he recorded "Politician"?)?
And is the "Vox grill ODS" then perhaps the one he used for the TTYD recording sessions?

Likewise had you not blown this one clients issues off then I would have never been given the "green light" either.
Hi ampdork,
as I am not sure if I understand your post right:
You've posted some technical specs here in this thread. Some of these you referred to as being those of "Robben Ford's amp".
Now my question:
Did you find out these technical details of "RF's ODS" by analysing Robben Ford's original "green light amp" or by analysing a specimen of a Bludotone "Ojai Special"?
Thanks again for sharing your observations and thoughts,
