Steve Kimock likes a 2x12 pine cabinet with a floating baffle, open back and Reconed Celestions blue bulldogs with 50w Dumble or TR amps.

I think his Bulldock speakers are reconed by Jim Aschow with Mesa Boogie.

Source: I got this info from "Tonequest report" v3, N5 March 2002.

Scott L (aka Dogears) has tested the Fane AXA 12 with a bunch of dumble type amps, but it was the only AlNiCo tested with a bunch of ceramics. Maybe Scott can chime in? IIRC, he liked it with his Bluesmaster amps.

My current favorite cab is a 2x12 with a G12-65 and a Scumnico.

Got any clips? I'd love to hear that! Is that a 12" or 10" Scumnico?

Err...no. Although someone was recording a recent gig...I'll see what I can scrounge up, if anything. If you're ever around Portland, OR, you'd be welcome to have a listen.

No problem - is it a 10" or 12" Scumnico? I'm currently working a 2x12 G1265/Scumback project myself. Although I doubt it can top the 1x12 EVM12. Having a Scumback M75-LHDC-65 via UPS tomorrow.

It's a 12". Hard to fit a 10" in a 2x12 cab.

For some reason, I thought I remembered you mentioning a 10" Scumnico somewhere. Thought you might be using one of those adapters. For very little cost, they easily mount a 10" speaker in a 12" hole ... must have been someone else though.

EDIT: One of these guys ...
