I will get out the alligator clips and try a few as Bob says they're cheap in both directions you will be surprised at the difference.. Listen for smoothness or smoother!!..Don't go nuts with it I'll pick the one I like say out of 3 or 4..
(You will get some buzz from the clips that's OK test away!!) Good Luck..

That's interesting! Never heard anybody talk about it. Thnx! Have to try this. :D
Yeah!! you can do it with every cap in the TS and PI couplers and notice a difference.. Mainly in the smoothness.. if you have an ear can hear it.. (Strat's Preferred for test) Be aware you can quickly get carried away with it..The clips can add some noise but your not listening necessarily for tone but SMOOTHNESS!!... Kapish

Ken Fisher trick..

Also another trick of Ken's is to if you ever run across a vacuum cleaner sitting on the side of the road or a broken down one in a thrift store grab it cut the power cord and turn it into a speaker cable.. something about a power cord that pulls some serious current for long periods of time makes for an EXCELLENT!! speaker cable..Toasters work OK too but VC's are better.. A warning though as it's very much direction dependent.. The very old 50's/60's Beldons are money!!...

So ceramic caps can be directional?
I hadn't heard of that either.

Time to get the test leads out...

Yes I have heard the old vacuum cleaner cord for speaker cables years ago.
How much is fact and how much is myth, who knows but as long as it is at least 16 ga or 14 ga, it will work fine.

I need to find some cooperative electrons because I need all the help I can get.
