Changes made.
Re: Gregor's Dumble on the bay
The plates clearly look like 220K/150K. Check the pics. You can see the red/red on V1a.
Also, the series resistor feeding the level pot should be 100K and not 180k.
Good job!

Re: Gregor's Dumble on the bay
Totally, looks that way and sounds that way too. Whether or not the amp actually belonged to and was played by LC -- and I'm sure it did -- it totally has vintage Carlton (and early RF) Dumble tone. However, the plate load and cathode resistor and the cathode bypass caps look too modern to agree with the rest of the amp...dogears wrote:The plates clearly look like 220K/150K. Check the pics. Well, I guess I was reading it from the wrong end. I guess I was thinking red was the tolerance band (but it wouldn't be 2% anyway, those are probably 1%, which is brown, thus causing my confusion).
Schematic is updated.
I heard back from Gregor, he said the PAB works fine and the relay is perhaps under one of the other boards.

Re: Gregor's Dumble on the bay
Hi you nice guys in this forum, thanks for discussing this amp so much - I'm not a technican and I have absolutely no Idea about electronics, but for me the Amps appears to be 100 % original (sounds like that too). But if you find something in Detail I should add to my listing, please tell me.ic-racer wrote:Thank you for the input.dogears wrote:The plates clearly look like 220K/150K. Check the pics. Shure, the Pre Amp Boost works perfectly on both channel!
Cheers, Gregor

Re: Gregor's Dumble on the bay
Hi Gregor,
Yes you can definitely get additional info from the board.
EITHER, If you own a multimeter, you could measure the resistor values and also have a look at the orange capacitors. And just write the values on the photos, you allready posted.
OR, take some very close pictures of the amp inside- I suggest ten closeup pictures from the amp inside.
Then, members of the board, will be happy to ell you accurately which schematic / diagram fits the amp and you could print the schematic and give it to the new happy amp owner, as a nice gesture.
All you have to do is spend another 5 minutes with your digi camera
PS: I bought a couple of SD Antiques humbuckers from you last year, which have found a happy home in my ol' Les Paul - so I'm one of the guys who gave you a positive rating on Ebay

Hi, maybe I could photograph everything again. But this needs more than 5 min. I have to see wehen I have time to do that. Cheers, Gregorbluesfendermanblues wrote:Hi Gregor,

Re: Gregor's Dumble on the bay
Just an interesting thing: Number 93 was Carrlos Rios Dumble Top (orange suede) and Number 97 the Beach Boys Dumble.UltraHookedOnPhonix wrote:It's #94
Does anybody knows where 95 and 96 are? Are they photos existing? Thanks, Gregor
Re: Gregor's Dumble on the bay
Gregor,
Thanks for your input on #94. Your playing is fantastic and I watched all your YouTube videos while building my amp, as there are no real Dumbles to play near where I live.
The closest pictures I know of are #84 and #119, but just exterior shots.

Don't know if it is accurate, but this picture was claimed to be a 50w amp for the Beach Boys, perhaps it is #97?

Re: Gregor's Dumble on the bay
That is a good idea. Gregor, feel free to download the schematic I posted (we could make it more accurate with more picturesbluesfendermanblues wrote: you could print the schematic and give it to the new happy amp owner, as a nice gesture.

dumble overdrive special
For those of you who are interested, i own a dumble overdrive special combo , serial number 99 in orange-rust suede, 100 watt in mint condition, black chassis with script logo. The 12" speaker is a very rare, EVM-12S. After Gene at Ultrasound in NYC inspected the amp's internals, he described its condition as N.O.S.
