Also, don't most ODS have a bypassed 220K between the send and return jacks?

What value is the cap on the standby switch typically? .01uf?
The pictures I have just let me know it is there. .02 may have been a guess.

IC, Your printed circuits look real nice. Do you make them using a kit or .......

EDIT: never mind. I started a new thread about this at http://ampgarage.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=99805#99805

sorry for the derail...

IC,
I hope you didn't feel like I was criticizing your work.
I admire all your previous projects and was only trying to help so I hope it didn't seem like I was picking on your schematic.
It's very difficult to figure what was in some of those amps because of the low res quality of the pictures.
You just can't get any clarity when you zoom in.

Many times I look over the photos submitted by the top builders here and will magnify them as much as possible in order to decipher what component they used where to try and improve my own amp.

Keep up the good work. 8)

I keep on trying to figure out what ceramic disc caps guys are using in the D clones.

When I have ordered them or tried finding them at the local supply house they are always these tiny little caps.
In the other thread about the treble caps, I still can't seem to find the ones they are talking about at the usual places like Mouser or Digikey.

Because the schematic was based on the pictures, to avoid errors, I pretty much built it by looking at the pictures. I had a computer monitor on the workbench with the pictures as I worked. (in addition to the schematic).

I'm planning on wiring this one the same way.

Speaking of wiring. It has been quite a few months since I addressed wire type. I had a pretty good understanding of what was needed for #124, but I wonder if someone could give a recommendation on the wire likely used on this era amp. Size? Core? Casing?
That's basically how I built my #124 as well.

Could you link me to the final HRM schem and some pics of a real HRM?

I'm sure this has been answered in much detail but what is the correct thickness for the Dumble formica board?

and what is the wood grain of choice?

I tried to match this from the Formica web site. Though I don't know for a fact that he used real Formica.

I have this picture that may be of some assistance.

I finally got a chassis and cabinet. Now I can move on as I think everything else I need is available from the usual sources.

What chassis did you go with? The import guy one?

One of the forum members sold me a Funk/Brandon chassis/cab kit.

It is very nice. I have noticed that the mounting holes for the precision power supply don't exactly match the one I made, so I'm going to make another power supply board to match the holes in the chassis. Also, I was not happy with my power supply board. It is a different brand copper-clad board and it is not transparent like the other boards. I went to a lot of trouble to make pretty traces and I'd like them to show through :)

My prototype Formica main board was also 1/2 inch too short to match the mounting holes also. Luckily I have not yet cut my 'good' piece of Formica, so I will cut that to match the holes in the chassis.

The chassis holes for the relay boards are too widely spaced. I matched my boards to the exact size of the relay in the pictures, so, I think my relay board is the correct size. In this case I think I will fill in the extra chassis holes with JB weld and drill a couple new holes.

The chassis is painted rather than anodized, so I can paint over the JB Weld and it should look fine.

Since I don't want two amps that sound the same I'm building this one to be quite differnet from my #124 amp. The following summarizes the major differences

#124 -------HRM

100K--------220/150K
10uf-------- 5uf
DALE--------MF
6L6 ---------EL34
Twin OT----Marshall OT
300uf caps-200uf caps
100w-------100w
