In my 1976 Bandmaster Reverb I did it like this,...

Another method, that does not alter preamp board much.

To install eylets on a in-chassis board Ive used a conical shaped tip (in my case the sawed of portion of the eylet tool) taped to a c-clamp.

Put the point underneith, tighten the clamp, and viola.
