Interesting, so 10x more FB. Probably lowering the gain more than anything else?

If you like the 1k resistors there is no problem, but the originals are definitely 100 ohm. On the gutshot of the SSS001 you can see them very clearly.

In my opinion either you're fixing a problem by doing a modification or there was no problem to begin with.
Using a higher gain 12ax7 as first tube, there are 3 high gain preamp stages before the phase inverter. With the volume knob high enough, this will cause some clipping. Despite the attenuation of the tonestack and feedbackloops. Especially when the high filter is set to select a bigger cap bypassing the 820k resistor. (1000p and up)

I don't know how you measured the output power, but this is best done using an oscillator on the power amp input.

It's a stretch to say the originals have 100 Ohm, because SSS001 has 100 ohm Pihers there. There are plenty of differences between 001 and 002. My source on the 1k is solid. Still, I do see why you'd like 100 ohm. The latter has a bit more grit, maybe a bit more responsive?

Yeah 10 times the feedback. Big difference for sure.
