He loves hanging out in the basement in the summer where my work room is. It's nice and cool. But when I get those big ol ODS's going he runs :)

That's a great looking Dumblator. I will be using your pics as reference when I build mine. Do you have a part # on the rack?
Sure, half way down the page:

A worthy derailment!

Anyway, nice job on the D'Lator.

Where did you find the isolation washers for the jacks Ultra?

Switchcraft makes a black shoulder washer and a, rigid plastic washer (brown), mouser part#: 502-S-1029 and 502-S-1028 respectively. The shoulder washer is overpriced, so you can use the Keystone alternative, mouser part#: 534-3069. Keystone’s shoulder washer is slightly thicker than the Switchcraft one.

PAYBACK!!!

Sorry for another question about the shoulder washers.
I haven't used them before.
Do you need two per jack or do you use one shoulder washer on one side and a flat fiber washer on the other side of the jack?

Shoulder on one side flat on the other, you do have to make the hole larger than 3/8 to accommodate the shoulder.

shoulders or beginners luck

Post by angelodp »

Not sure why you would need the shoulders. In both my Dlator builds I used
a star ground method with two points ( like the original I believe ), and have not had any hum issues with the unit.

BTW I did have great help from Ultra - so thanks for that.

Hoffman has them under the washers and screws section of his site. $0.15 each.
