IMO everyone who did listen to Karl Ratzer wielding his Nocaster on the 3rd generation ODS tracks and 2nd generation ODRS tracks in "The Dumble video/sound clip reference" thread :D : http://ampgarage.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=11906

The hidden secret of his "Nocaster into Dumble tone" will most probably be the "paper dust cap mod".

Cheers,

As with almost everything, it has been done before. Not to take away from anyone else, but to add another name. Most notably, in my mind, is Canadian jazz guitarist Ed Bickert who I think is the originator of jazz with a Tele.

Here is a video of Ted Greene.

Man, if that is his house, he is not the best house keeper.

Man, he makes that Tele sound like a harp.

Genius.

I guess he passed away in 2005.

Yeah, Ted Greene and Ed Bickert really got some stunning jazz tones out of slab guitars.....I remember hearing Ed Bickert and expected to find out he played a hollow body...what a surprise !

I highly suggest this book for anyone that's trying to open there mind to more chord voicing, chord building, chord phrasing, and of course overall song writing.

Most of this generation's highly evolved guitar player's have taken ideology from this book is some form through the grapevine.

Ted Greene is really the godfather of modernized song writing techniques.

Ted taught at his home and all that clutter you see is piles and piles of endless musical ideas that he had kept.

He was a genius I bet if you listen to his playing you dont even see the clutter if your eyes are closed and your mind is open.

He was a recluse and taught at home it appears all he thought about was music and he was never bored...

Anyone who is a guitarist should have his record and when you listen too it just keep in mind its just him and perhaps a leslie thats it.

He does it all.

several have claimed its layered but its not he used an echoplex and leslie and his hands...

I really wish I could have studied with that man....

I cant eat at the table he eats at guitar wise so I just listen...

What a player.

Must have come with age and maturing, but I used to think his chord book was insanity...now suddenly, it's starting to make sense.... Maybe the Mikey Baker book will be next 8)

Ted Greene was awesome.
I am just old and in the way.

Everyone should hear Teds record..

Its really something else..
Danny Boy, Summertime amazing playing.

I read where all he used on the entire recording was
echoplex and a leslie and his hands..

Echoplex has sound on sound recording so its possible
Ted was looping with that and playing over that.
