Inherited two Dumble Amps

Post by BelleSouth »

Unfortunately this isn't a fun post as I lost my Dad recently.

He left me a bunch of vintage guitars and amps, including two Dumble Amps. One is an Overdrive Special and I will need to check on the other, it's a smaller head type amp. (Sorry i'm new to this).

I am trying to work on some legal things as well as get this equipment insured in my current home. I am aware of the hype and rarity of this brand of amps and pretty sure the Overdrive Special is of higher value than the other one (which friends of my Dad's are estimating around 40k US).

I can't seem to find any history of Overdrive Specials for sale anywhere. I'm hoping someone here may have some advice on the value price. I will repost later with the artist this amp was made for for further clarification.

Any help is appreciated.

I'm sorry for your loss.

The serial numbers would help as well. Post some pics as well, I'm sure some folks here can help out. The estimate of $40K is not bad for the ODS, the smaller one will need more details.

There's information here http://www.roblivesey.com/dumble/ on Dumbles but your best resource is the good folks here. Once more details are posted I'm sure you'll get all the information you need.

Condolences on your father's passing. A good data point for you might be Overland Express. Dave has sold a number of Dumbles and knows where a bunch of them are, so he'd be a good person to check with. I am not affiliated with him in any way. http://www.overlandexpress.com/

Good luck,

Mike
