They sound pretty good if you ask me. They use quality parts too.

The amps are made in Italy and they are designed to run on 230 volts AC. What problems does that cause if one wanted to use one of these amps in North America on 120 volts AC? I'm assuming there are transformers available to convert 120 to 230? Other than the hassle, does this cause any problems with the amp if done correctly. I'm assuming this has been done successfully many times before as I'm assuming there are many 110 - 120 volt AC amps in Europe. Anybody have any first hand experience at this? Thanks for your time.

I suppose the simple solution would be to use a variac with a foreign amp.

But the best fix would be to have a export power transformer that has both 120vac and 220vac primaries.

Some amps like Marshall were switchable.

Thanks. Agreed. Staco makes a decent Variac that will work for this. (just got off the phone with them actually) 4.8 amps at 230 volts AC. Expensive with the built in voltmeter though. Yikes!! I'll contact the builder and see about a different transformer. I know Van Weelden went through the same thing for the US amps he built for Joe Bonamassa.
