I played through this cab once, sounded great and balanced for any style of music, very very good. Also very very heavy, so this is for home use only, or for the chosen few who have roadies to carry their gear.
Just my 2 cents,

What have you heard that sounds like it?
The price is insane, definitely for collectors of the real thing.
No flaming please, I've made up my mind on these sort of prices. If HAD were to buy it back, perhaps there would be something to it, but I think we all know that isn't going to happen. I like to think what choices HAD would make now?

i got a 2x12 EV that my dad built, almost impossible to carry around
a 4x12 you would need a small crane i reckon

Re: Dumble 4-12 cabinet?
AFAIK Alexander Dumble often used a rather lightweight timber (of the Shorea genus e.g.) for his lumber core and plywood cabinets. But 4 EVM 12L speakers are indeed rather heavy. But if these Dumble 4 x 12" cabinets are loaded with more lightweight speakers, AFAIR they are even less heavy than some other usual 4x12" cabinets.Ang3lus wrote:you would need a small crane i reckon

What stuck me as unusual about the cab was HAD favoured two baffles loaded with two speakers over a large single baffle which for lack of a better term would seem more resonant.
I think the thickness of the baffles is important too. I suspect if two EV's are mounted on them then they must be fairly thick baffles.

Interestingly, when I searched for Sherwood Ball, he seems to be a singer that has a large catalog since he started young.
From what I heard it's mostly country.

AFAIK the two baffles (top baffle and bottom baffle separated by the front crossbar) of the Dumble 4 x 12" cabinets have the same thickness as the baffles of all the other Dumble speaker cabinets (1 x 12", 2 x 12", 4 x 10", 1 x 10" etc.) including the combo cabinets.Mark wrote: I suspect if two EV's are mounted on them then they must be fairly thick baffles.

Re: Dumble 4-12 cabinet?
So I spend $25k on a stupid 4x12, and still have to pay $195 shipping?

Seems like a cool dude.

San Luis Obispo is in central cal, around 3 hours from Santa Cruz which is relatively close by California standards.
