another 2x12 on ebay.... Scam?

Post by steve_p »

Just saw this on the bay...

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1986-Dumble-PI- ... 41717886f3

The one picture shown was taken from the auction billy finished up last week here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1986-Dumble-PI- ... 7675.l2557

I wonder if the buyer over-extended himself then decided to flip it, or if this is just a scam.

The new listing is most certainly a scam...

With a feedback rating of only 10 (and only two of those as a seller), I'd be careful.

Not only did he steal a picture but,

He says, "This comes from a private collection here in Southern California."

But the location in the auctions says it is in Lawrence, Massachusetts :?

I reported it.

I live twenty minutes from Lawrence MA. If there is a Dumble 2x12 there, it was stolen or it's fake. Just sayin...

I decided to bypass the powers that be(bay), and go straight to the seller. Sent him a PM, asking the following:

"What the hell kind of scam are you trying to pull here? You've lifted a picture as well as text from this auction: [http://www.ebay.com/itm/1986-Dumble-PI- ... 7675.l2557]

And you CLEARLY are not the winning bidder of that auction because you have a feedback rating of 10, while the winning bidder of the original auction has a feedback rating of 216. Not to mention, if you had paid $8,800 for this cab, I'd think you'd have the good sense to start your auction a bit higher than $0.99 ! Something tells me you are fixing to get booted off of ebay!"

We'll see if he bothers to respond...

The original cabinet was paid for and delivered locally here in SoCal, and is most likely on its way to its new owner in Asia, if not already there by now.

And I mean no offense to anyone in Lawrence. There may be some Dumble collectors there.

That guy also has a Patek Phillipe wall cloth for $.99. Do you guys think that is real? Because that is a good deal!

"Item Sold" for $2025.00.
Someone is going to be not happy I'm thinking.

I'd be too afraid to go there with that much cash.

With the new eBay policies it probably would have been safe to bid on it.

If it turns out to be a fake, I hope the buyer is savvy enough to realize he was taken....
