Although I haven't broken them out in a while, IMO, "Renegade Gentleman" and "Texas Flood" NEED to be in the mix on a thread of "definitive" Dumble albums.
I'm a fan of Stephen Bruton's Dumble tones. He uses lots of guitar/amp combos. The OD Dumble stuff is (I think) unmistakable, and very nice to my ears. It's the sound I would like to recreate.
Ciao to me is Robben ford 89/90 period but i don t think that sound it s been on any record. it s the post Talk to your daughter period there are some recording on youtube live in Rome from tv show named Doc big blues tock jazz sound( bluesmaster ??) , i think that sound last 1 year or little more( sorry for my english) cause inthe 90 the sound has changed probably modded again from Mr Dumble into another great sound but i liked the 89 better CHHERS pazzo
My first Dumble experience was hearing Lowell George on "Waiting for Columbus" a Little Feat Live album.... soon followed by various David Lindley offering with Jackson Browne.
But the one that really floats my Dumble barge is Robben Fords "Handful of Blues"...
Somehow when they pick single notes, the notes are preceded by a certain hoarseness and pre-swell (I don't know how to put it), which I attributed to the D-type amps they used.
Sometimes my D-Lite gives me some of that, but never to that extend
But this phenomenon is THE DUMBLE signature to me.

Always a fan of Lindley's tone. However in more recent years (1993 onwards) my ol' friend Mark Goldenberg has been a member of the Brown band - and I can always pick his guitar tone out of the mix. Most noticeably on Jackson's album "I'm Alive." Don't know what he's using for amps though. Recording in California - in quality studios - everything's available.
Couple of years ago (while me being away ) there was a Robben Ford concert at my city (and to make me even more upset - there was a masterclass).
A friend fortunately had few pieces filmed of the performance. Albeit the camera mic is distorting, I think these are one of my favorite Dumble tones Obviously performed on a Fender Twin and, I guess, Zendrive, but from the hands of the man it comes out quite convincingly Dumblish http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zBK3ZJUsIQQ
