NEW CHASSIS RUN!!
Ok folks,
I'm putting together my chassis order and i wanted to know how many of you are truly going to want one.
Also, Since I have the pre-etched boards available now, do any of you forsee wanting copper clad boards? Otherwise I will have them all punched on plain garrolite so if you don't get a set of PCB's the whole thing will be setup for point-to point.
Do any previous customers have suggestions?

Any idea on cost? I want to do a build pretty soon, so I don't have to play out of my crappy Bassman 20 when school starts.

I will be wanting one. I may get the PS board also.
I would prefer the option of not having the PT hole, so I could use a standup power xfmr.
I'd also prefer an IEC inlet hole rather than the cord/strain relief hole, don't know if your does that or not.
Thanks!

Re: NEW CHASSIS RUN!!
All chassis are set up for Lay-down trannies ( the only "Real" amps that had stand-up trannies were built out of U-channel and sheet aluminum and screwed together, and used Music Man trannies), and double D holes for the power cable, I can certainly throw in a Strain relief if you need it, I have 1000 of them.
Cost should be around the same as the last time, although I do know that the cost of aluminum is up a bit.
Last time they were $155+s&h including the DIY PCB's, they will be $195 with the Pre-done PCB's(VERY NICE!)

Re: NEW CHASSIS RUN!!
As I mentioned in another thread this is a way better deal than going out and buying stuff on your own. The only question I have Brandon is delivery date. I got discouraged last go around because I wanted to get building and things just kinda stalled for awhile. With your suppliers now all in a row, can you predict a deliver date?
I would want punched garolite, (no PCBs) and strain relief. Screw those IEC suckers.
Thanks
Dan

Re: NEW CHASSIS RUN!!
To clarify, is the PCB you refer to just the power supply or is it the whole circuit?
Also, which builds will this chassis/board combo work for? I want to build a full on clone with channel switching. I'd like reverb and a buffered loop but those'll come later.
Does the PCB make it easier or just different?
I play a 76 LP Deluxe with mini humbuckers, any recommendations for what would sound good?

Re: NEW CHASSIS RUN!!
the Preamp board is G-10 punched with 1/8" holes for standard eyelets.
The PCB set includes the power supply, relay supply, 2relay boards, FET board, and HRM board.
If you don't get the PCB set then the other boards will be plain G-10 with only the mounting holes punched.
As far as delivery date all I can say is they are done when they are done. This is a 100% custom run of chassis, there is engineering, refining, building, refining, etc before the first batch comes off the CNC, then they are all welded, Industrially powder-coated, then screen-printed(all done at different shops mind you). After that I have to sit and individually drill-out all the holes in the mounting nuts so that they are big enough for a 4-40 screw, then I have to put together the sets of hardware, board kits, and chassis and box them all up.
Honestly I don't make a whole lot when I do these, for the amount of time I spend doing the leg work and grunt work they should be about $250 without any boards.
So I'm sorry if you got impatient the last time, but the best things come to those who wait.

I want a complete set, with PCBs... hopefully the weight is light and the postal shipping to Canada won't be ugly $$$.
My only suggestion... I would prefer IEC if that was possible, but I'll work with whatever you produce!

Re: NEW CHASSIS RUN!!
You can certainly punch a hole for an IEC yourself, I really am trying to keep them as ACCURATE as possible.

Re: NEW CHASSIS RUN!!
I may be misunderstanding something, but my $30 blank chassis and $10 G10 board took a day to layout and punch. Why are you all interesting in spending $200?
Re: NEW CHASSIS RUN!!
I'm sure many folks enjoy the process of layout out a chassis and doing the metal work, particularly if it's a new design.
The satisfaction of working with a well planned machined, finished chassis is pretty great though...it's just a different experience.

Re: NEW CHASSIS RUN!!
James,
This is a 1/8" thick welded aluminum chassis that is Powder coated and screen printed, comes with CNC punched boards and is ready to go.
I charge $60 an hour for my shop time, so 3 hours of measuring, marking, and drilling just paid for my chassis.
I don't know how your "homebrew" hammond box amps look and sound, but these chassis are VERY accurate to the original, and took quite a bit of time to do properly.
If you don't want one PLEASE don't buy one, but why are you posting your opinion on the quality of these products when what you are talking about is clearly inferior??
