Thinking about building a Dumbleator as a building block/interface for some other studio-oriented projects I have going.
As I have never used one, I am wondering if anyone uses the D'lator without any FX unit (send/return linked) as a sort of pre-amp?
Does it work? Useful? Not so much?

Re: Question for Dumbleator users
Yea, you can get some different tones by placing the D'lator in the loop and driving it at different levels. I wouldn't say it's a must have, but interesting to play with. It's handy to have a stand-alone buffer and gain stages that you can jack into available as well.

I know only what I have read about them here on TAG, but looking at it, the configuration of the 2 sections looked pretty useful both together & separately.
