stand alone dumbleator

Post by pedro »

Hi Guys -

have tried adding the effect loop inside my amp - but must be too cramped as I get nasty feedback and distortion . I had rigged up point to point around a 4th tube socket but just not working - I'm using a large chassis so had long cable runs to the back panel from the socket which wasnt ideal either.

I've ripped it apart and put the amp back as it was. ( unfortunately i now seem to have too much hum on my clean channel for some strange reason - but thats another story )

Now I want to use 19" rack unit to make seperate effect loop dumbleator.

Does anyone have experince of building one stand alone - what TCX's etc - I'm guessing I just need to rig up a PS using a toroid which wiull get me around 380v or so at pretty low current, and sep heater supply for the 1 12ax7.

Also I ve seen mention of passive effects loop - any good - any schems around ??

Any thoughts. ?

cheers
