Which ceramic caps?

Post by mlp-mx6 »

For the ODS sound, which ceramic 47pF-500pF caps do you use? (Which Mouser (or wherever) offering do you prefer?)

Thanks,
Michael

How about the temp coeff. I tend to go with COG, NPO and SL.

It is usually whatever I can find at Mouser in the Spraque, Mallory or XICON lines.

I will have to check out the radio shack BagO'Cap selections and see if there are any sonic treasures to be had.....

Part of HAD's secret sauce were those junk shop parts....

I totally agree, it seems the crappier parts I use in the signal path the better it sounds!

Think about those x5r mounted directly to the tube socket... terrible temp coeff and very hot environ, a genius!
