Nice! I appreciate the pics....220K 150K with a 50nF mid cap, Deep switch, I'm guessing 250k treble and bass pots and 100k mid. Ca 450V on both plates and screens and 6L6's.

Now what is that 50nf cap on that board doing there by the OD pots on the front?

Dumble For Sale

Post by drpastorbob »

He must not have thought it sounded good enough to be a keeper (?) It would be nice to hear from him about why it's for sale other than the price it might bring.

from ebay ad "But the reason is I want to buy me a appartment in the middle of the city of my hometown - and this cost serious money. This is the only reason, otherwise I would keep the amp until I play guitar... "

My guess is it's a High frequency taper, and possibly not a 50nf(Maybe a .0039 @ 1Kv)

Well, initial impressions are usually wrong, but here are some comments from what I see (with respect to #124):

1) Resistors hanging off the 40/100 switch but No indicator LED???
2) Where is the PAB relay???
3) No network on Send/Return
4) Can cap is probably 20uf x2 rather than 10ufx2
5) First PS caps 200uf rather than 300uf.
6) 6L6 screens and grids like #124 (5.1k and 470r)
7) To me it looks like 100k Metal Film plate resistors x4
8 ) PI plates 110k and 110k?
9) Slope 150k Carbon Film
10) NFB resistor starts with a "4" (470?)
11) no cap across V1b grid resistor.
12) I can't tell, is this a Skyliner?

2) Where is the PAB relay???

Perhaps it's under the chassis. I suspect, since it's been degooped.

12) I can't tell, is this a Skyliner

Maybe, can't tell from the photos.

No skyliner;

-No signs of upgraded coax wires,...still the old black ones,

-I see the Deep switch' ceramic cap.

Brandon, Thanks!

At first I thought that ceramic cap on the back of the "Deep" switch was for a Mid-Boost, but the third capacitor on the preamp board does look more like a tiny 330p, rather than a .002uf. This WOULD be consistent with having a "Deep" switch.

What do you think about the PAB relay? I see a brown wire from the PAB switch going under the preamp board, but I don't see any wires going from the front controls to the relay. I asked about this on the e-bay auction.

That #123 partial schematic shows one of these circuits also. It shows a 500k trimmer and a .002uf.

It is 'hidden' as a somewhat OT post in some thread somewhere. Anyway, here it is for your hard drive ;)

A lot of guesswork here but this is an attempt at #094...
