Did/does Mark Knolfer use a Dumble?

Post by AdrianJ »

I seem to remember reading that he did in an article a while back, but can't seem to find any reference to it online now.

Anyone know and if so what type (HRM/non-HRM etc)?

Not that I have ever heard and I'm a big fan.
But he used to use Jim Kelley amps as well as SLO100s with EVM12L's in a Marshall cab. Brothers in arms was Jim Kelleys mostly

depends on the era. early on
throw in a old brown vibrolux, a music-man, mesa boogies and possibly a JC-120.
I have never thought his sound is a Dumble. I could be wrong.

Hi Adrian,

two weeks ago Andy Brauer told a friend of mine, that Steve Farris sometimes has lent his ODS (#075 on Rob's site) to some other musicians for their recording sessions. Andy named Mark Knopfler and Eric Clapton as two of those, who used ODS #075 for some of their recordings in the eighties. Its a non HRM with a specially tuned version of the "classic" tonestack and some other "specials" to tailor its sound in the direction Steve (and obviously some others too) liked.

Have a fine day and a great weekend

stereo mix Brown vibrolux and a JC120.
It's in an Interview from Knoffler somewhere.
