Tri State Tone Fest - Ohio/Kentucky/Indiana

Post by B Vance »

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Help Spread the Word…

Last night myself and a few musicians and builders from the area got together at a Iocal studio, hung out, tried gear everyone had with them and got to brainstorming... We came up with an idea for a TriState (Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana) tone fest.

Our goal is to make it as organized as possible, and provide players and any builders who may be interested in attending an opportunity to hangout, network, try out other guys' gear and talk about tone. We’re going to be setting up a website that will serve as a sign-in registration sheet. On the page you will be able to post what you'd like to bring to the fest as well as what you’d be interested in seeing other people bring to the fest as well. Selling and trading will be welcomed. I’m lucky enough to be planning this event with the owner of a regional studio in the Dayton-area. Therefore we have an awesome location for the festivities that is centrally located to a decent-sized 90 minute market and we'll have access to professional-quality studio space for recording and iso-space.

The tenative date for the get together is set for Saturday, March 27th from 4:00PM-10:00PM in Dayton.

Post here and PM me if you’d be interested in attending the event or if you have any friends who may be interested as well.

Hey everyone,

Good news... The website is up and running on two feet, and what's even better, it's on schedule.

http://www.gemcitytonefest.com/

The first page is a generic "Welcome".

The second page will give you a map to the location (in google maps for easy driving directions).

The third page just lists some of the details of the events, the do's and the don'ts, and a brief description of the facility and the registration process and registration options.

The fourth page is where you'll register your gear and select your price point (we have done our best to keep our total costs low, and we're definitely not going to make money on the event, but we hope to curb some of our losses - studio time, website design/domain, security costs, etc.). Please remeber, right now we are limiting to 10 pieces (due to space). If at a later time after we've received what we think is the majority of the registrations and we think we may have more room, we'll open it up to additional pieces - (Guitars count as 1 piece, amps count as 1 piece, cabs count as 1 piece, pedal boards count as 1 piece - please have your pedals organized and not 14 pedals in a plastic Kroger bag, racks count as 1 piece and attenuators are considered to be part of an amp so they don't count additional). We will be continually monitoring the registration lists looking for duplicate items that way we don't have a bunch of the same thing show up. If we think we have some duplicates, we'll contact the owners and suggest possibly bringing something else or just leaving that particular piece of gear at home. This section is also where you list if you're interested in a carpool. We'll do our best to pair people up.

Everything else should be easy enough. Be patient, it may take a second or two for the "Who" and the "Gear" lists to populate.

Register early. Remember, YOU MUST BE REGISTERED - NO WALK INS. This is due to both security and space.

Looking forward to meeting you all and experiencing some awesome tone and sweet gear!
