Anybody have a schematic for an Atomic 18?

I have a re-tube and bias coming, a schematic is always nice to have on hand.

Soldano? Atomic 16 in that case. The schem is up at freeinfosociety. Pretty simple three stages, long tail PI, 2xEL84 cathode bias..

The pod dock amp slave thing, not the soldano.

Its is the el84 not the 6l6. Atomic amps I've found manuals etc, but not a scheme.

It's an adjustable fixed etc... shouldn't be too bad at all, but scheme always help.

It's stating to look that way. I'll post it when I get it. The guy really loves the thing.
Tube power side makes a ginormous difference with those SS digital pre's.

I bought a dead Atomic Reactor 18 off of ebay. Just the unit itself, not the whole cabinet. Atomic was no help in getting a schematic. I did not even get a response back. Also found lots of customer support complaints.
Never did anything with it yet. Sitting in a box. One day...........

geezzz....That's why I was asking around here first.

The hardest thing is dis-assembly, there are a lot of connectors.
Once inside look for R24 and VR1. R24 is a 10 ohm to ground from the cathode's.
Don't forget to move the decimal with the math. Readings are .XXXX V.
you want .0XXX ma/mv. VR1 is the adjustment, and you can grab the rest of
the V measurements off the pin out on the pcb. Not too bad.

Cheap amp, pretty box, looks real easy to mod, or step up the caps at least.

I'm the owner of one of these amps... I've changed the tubes once... but didn't bother with bias. This will give me a great starting point!

Do you think changing some components would improve the amp much? Or would I be better off leaving it stock?

The coupling caps are cheap, cheap..... any improvement would be good.

About the Soldano Atomic 16, this linked above is the only schem avilable all over the net, but I've never seen an Atomic or an Astroverb exactly matching that particular schem. Perhaps this is a prototype or a very early version. The common Atomics out there are like the one I own. This is the schematic if anyone is interested.

And this is the same schem with a couple of mods (currently implemented in mine) and the voltage readings using 230/110 VAC step down tranny.
