Im not too good at reading datasheet graphs, just wondering if anyone knew the specs on the diode in these tubes.I know they were designed for detectors or something in radio but I may have a good use for one in an amp if it would work for me.
Im using the 6SQ7 for a cathodyne PI and Merlin's page has a 1n4007 in one for arc protection.I know I could just put the 4007 in but thats no fun when youre building something from scratch and your favorite question is "what if?"

Re: 6SQ7 internal diodes
The diode is supposed to allow current to pass while the cathode is coming up to temperature. The problem I see with your idea is that the vacuum diode won't be up to temperature either, and so it won't be capable of performing this function.
