Workbench question

Post by sergio »

Hi , I'm going to rebuilding my workbench and I thought to endow it with Both 110V and 220V outputs for testing amplifiers etc ... and others AC output for equipment: power supply / DMM / Oscilloscope.

I would like to equip the workbench with filter-line, it's necessary or I can go without?

If Yes , what filter type?: RF? EMI?

Thanks for yours suggestion

Make sure your power line is a dedicated one, that should minimize the filtering you have to do.

Hi David , unfortunately I can't have a dedicated power line!

Personally, I'd look for an isolation transformer with both 110 and 220V, with adequate power.... 2-3 KVA should be sufficient...
In most cases that should do enough of filtering... filters for LF noise is expensive and elaborate...

If you can choose, keep it off the line that your washer or refrigerator are on.
