Hhh
Nope! No flux issues or drum beating responces out of the whole amp as one , or just the circuit board!
When I die, I want to go like my Grandfather did, peacefully in his sleep.
Not screaming like the passengers in his car!
Cutting out a man's tongue does not mean he’s a liar, but it does show that you fear the truth he might speak about you!

Re: Taking bets!
Have you tried bypassing the standby switch with a clip lead? Is there a fuse in the B+ line?

Nope, the switch is in the circuit where the amp would have the issue all the time and it does not.

Oh, this sounds like new information then. In your original post, you say the noise occurs every 2 to 3 minutes. But now you're saying it doesn't happen all the time. Can you elaborate on what's different when you do not here the arcing noise?

Another known source of pops is the heater-cathode voltage breakdown in CF's. Is there a CF in that amp?

Ok headway!
I replaced the two PI output coupling caps with not change and then since my order for more 9 pin sockets has not shown yet I disconnected the plate feed wire to pin 1 and the issue stopped. I am calling it arcing socket for now until I suff in a new one.
