Actually in the UK you can return anything bought online within 14 days no reason needed, its the law. I don't think it applies to second hand items though??

I assume the factories do sample testing 10 out of every 100 sort of thing, but they wont be caring about noise or microphonics

Dam, wish I knew that at the time. Although really considering how noisy the valves were they should have taken them back.
