FRONT PANEL MOUNT LED INDICATORS
What do you use for front panel LED indicators? I've had some problems finding the right mount/LED combination. My goal is to have a red/green channel indicator and a blue clip indicator. I can find a 5mm red/green led no problem, but any other color I'm not able to find. Ideally I would use the preassembled style that tightens to the front chassis panel with a nut, I don't want to deal with PCBs or anything like that. Thanks for your advice. My power supply will be 5 VDC.
Just plug it in, man.

Hoffman amps sells a nice 5mm LED bezel:

as well as several colors of LED's.
For smaller led's (3mm vs 5mm)
you can get these from tubesandmore.com (antique electronic supply)

and they sell similar led's of different colors for that type.

I have used tricolor leds....you can utilize a standard instrument jack size hole and a rubber grommet. Push the led from behind until it starts to protrude .

Here's what I use. They will run on less than 12V also. They have a built in resistor for the LED, so it's as simple as running them to a DC source. The radio shack site has several different colors.

they have 3mm as well. for the super bright ones i use like a 10k dropping resistor and they're still bright as 'ell
shipping takes awhile but they're super cheap. i bought a ton of rectifier diodes (70), 5 bridge rectifiers, and some knobs and it was less than ten bucks including shipping. check their Facebook page as they often have 15% off coupons
