The elusive 1 3/16 in. chassis punch.
I can find a few old ones, but no new 1 3/16 in. chassis punches in the wild. I had to settle for a 1 7/32 in. version, which may not be such a big deal. It is nice to have those octal sockets fit snug all the way around, though. Anyone know of a source of new, well-made 1 3/16 inch chassis punches? Mine are from Greenlee. Thanks.
Just plug it in, man.

I have a stepper bit that goes out to 1-3/16. I think I bought it off Amazon for about $15. its requires a little more clean-up, but works like a charm.

Hello,
I don't know where you can get a 1 3/16" chassis punch but being a machinist by trade I can provide you with a simple means of producing a hole in your chassis for an octal socket that I have used often. 30mm 1.181" is a mere .006" smaller than 1 3/16" and your octal socket will fit snugly in that hole. I use a 30mm carbide tipped hole saw which are vey affordable on eBay, Use a cordless drill if possible and run it at a low speed. You'll be happy with the results.

I use a 30mm for 8 pin Belton tube sockets and 18.6mm for 9 pin Belton sockets.

I just punched my octal sockets with the 30.5 mm Greenlee knockout punch. It's a "bit" loose, but will work. I'll look for a 30 mm!
