London amps a few adjustable bias kits that are very nice, you might want to check it out.

@Privatpig...if you are still experiencing a volume drop, check to see if the 470 ohm PI cathode resistor isn't a 470k by mistake. It sits between two 1 meg resistors and connects to pins 3 and 8 on the PI tube. This mistake pops up quite often in new builds and it will cause a very low volume from the amp.

1) Did this amp ever produce full volume, or were you just to the point of getting ready to start it up when you arced? If the amp has never demonstrated the ability to reach full volume, I’d look at touching up solder joints and andding a little flux along the signal path to V1, and repeat down the signal chain until it improves.
