Impedance switch

Post by angelodp »

Hi, since the NKK Imp switch is no longer avail, is it just the switch over at AE that makes the best sense? Other options?

Thanks A

That is the one I switched to... Pun intended.

Yes that's the one, and only. I see that's Tube Depot actually has a few NKK still avail.

Thanks - time to stock up.

It's not as pretty, but I've used these with success:

I just tie the three poles together. See the attached layout for an illustration. For $1.09, it's hard to beat. Of course, this is a four position switch (which is what I required). They do have three position switches, as well.

You've never burned one of those switches up ? How many Watts have you put through one at 4 Ohms ?

Nothing more powerful than a JTM 45, and never at 4 ohm (my cabs are 8 and 16). I don't do very high powered amps. Tightwad here.

If you like spending more money and like the flush look, here's another option at a little over $15: https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Sc ... NCShAlI%3D

I use these for my voltage and impedance selectors. I like them. I think these are Schurter's updated versions of the Marshall style voltage and impedance selectors. Although, last I checked, they still sold the old Marshall style switches.
