Russian Tube Limits

Post by johnnyreece »

So, working through planning my next build, I'm trying to sort out what kind of voltage to feed my tubes. I'm wanting to use Russian 6N2P for preamp and 6P1P for the power section. According to the data sheets I've found, 300V is the max plate voltage for the 6N2P and it's only 250V for the 6P1P. I'm hoping to use closer to 350V on the preamp and 300V for power. I haven't found a lot of discussion, but I did see our friend Bancika did run the 6N2P at 350V (https://diy-fever.com/amps/5-watt-slo/), but I'm not seeing a whole lot of other data points...I'd appreciate any other input on these!

I've had my preamp with a 6N2P-EV running around 320v to the plate resistor for a while - no issues.

Datasheet says 500v at cutoff, so wouldn't be too concerned.
