odd sound in power amp section

Post by blue_dog »

Maybe someone can help me, I was fixing my fender blues deluxe ri and when I was done the amp hummed more and it sounded odd when I plugged directly into the power section. It seemed that all notes were flatter. does anyone have any idea? could it because the phase inverter? thanx

Not sure I can help but a couple of questions to fill in the blanks.

What was wrong in the first place which needed fixing?

What did you do?

I changed the bright channel and the reverb, also replaced a small input capacitor 47pf off the V3 tube

What do you mean "when I plugged directly into the power section"? Plugged what?

Also, you say you changed a 47pf cap; to what? And why?

Found the problem, cold solder joint off a filter cap caused the spongy sound. thanks for the help anyways.
