The difference between the 5B3 and 5C3 is the resistors on the voltage divider where the cathode of the power tube's cathode connects.

Also the 5C3 has negative feedback where the 5B3 doesn't.

The 5C3 seems to be the only tweed deluxe that has NFB.

I have had the chance to noodle with both the 5b3 and 5c3, I don't like global feedback with this inverter, so far I've been preferring to utilize degenerative feedback with un-bypassed or critically bypassed cathode resistors.

If you careful you can optimize a rig for your ear pretty easily...

Yup... 5f6-A ... but with a modified pre from 5e8-a twin, and kt88 or kt66

getting there... its gonna be a TV cab just a few more pieces to the cab.
I usually do the cab last, this time it's first... should have it covered next week

It'll be a TV front, red mother of boat seat with a oxblood speaker cloth, and a cut thick aluminum logo. just maybe by next week... it's always great to see the clients gratification.
Cab first this time, my wife has been after me for years to make the presentation the priority.

simple'er is good'er... the 45 cut out of the corner of the end block gets over the radius of the bend in the metal.
Many old amps are only one step above a craft build, I've learned alot doing repairs.
