Cool build xtian
I really like the way you use radial caps.
as far as grounding, are you staying with one ground point?
I'm sure it will be quiet, I 'm just used to the separate power and pre power
grounds.
not sure i understand the ground from speaker jack to pre amp cap.
Is speaker jack isolated?
I assume ground B+ CT close to PT...great I used the word assume

These are all important questons but the only question tha treally matters is how you come up with the seemingly random names for your builds. Is Freemasonry involved?

@drcribbs, yes, the speaker jack is isolated from chassis, and its ground runs to the filter cap for the PI, since the NFB and Presence control are part of that subsystem. PT CT goes to the filter cap group first, then to the end of the ground bus.

@lord preset, It should be a simple matter for you to discover the theme in my recent naming system, when you see them all in one place:

Shasta
Lassen
Butte (abandoned...too much like Butt)
Whitney
Tamalpias

California peaks, to be more precise.

And speaking of, thanks for the correction, Martin!

Tamalpias sounds like something good to eat, though... Tamale x Sopapilla.

I really like what you did with the radial caps. I think that is totally inspired. I'm working with a board as we speak where I having a radial cap placement issue. That approach totally nails it. I can already hear the drill running. Thank you!

Cool, Phil!

Just make sure you're assembling/soldering with the real standoffs in place so you've got the hight of the board WRT the chassis when installing the radials. You can see I've got my board screwed down to a board with my actual standoffs.

Thanks for explaining your radial cap technique in more detail. I will have to try it sometime for real. It turned out that I didn't have enough space for the hole, which was at the corner of the board. I ended up cutting out the corner to make room to stand the cap closer to the first terminal and it seems to have worked out fine. It is not elegant, but it will pass for what I need.

I forgot my good manners here. You've got a nice touch with the layout. It's a nice blend of convention and innovation. It looks great.

Great looking layout xtian! I'm watching closely for your implementation of the B+ reducer. I need something similar in a mic preamp conversion I'm doing.

Thanks, guys!

Tony, I'm going to pop that B+ reducer in a recent 18-watt build to test drive it. Hope to get some time tonight.
