Everyone who ever worked in a studio knows that if you move the mic 1/2", theres a considerable change in the sound. Unless you were doing this comparison with a setup that had no variables other than the caps, I don't see any merit to it.

possibly they are indeed superior sounding but I don't see any validity as a comparison either. Seems everything should be the same except the cap (and the cap should read the same value as well). Plus maybe quick switching back and forth.
