Speaking of Chinese tube production I found the following link showing a good amount of the manufacturing process. I found it to be pretty interesting.
(apologies if this has been posted in the past Im a newish lurker and am always in awe of the knowledge base on the forum)

I find this comment interesting
This is a modern, proprietary vacuum machine that Shuguang's employee invented! It is said to produces a vacuum 100x more than the older Russian variety.


Hmm, there is only so much "atmosphere" that can be removed to create a vacuum...... ????

OR Stating it a different way, I find it hard to believe that the Russian equipment produced only 1% the vacuum of the Shugs.... Hmmm???

Interesting. I've got a 1937 catalog from Sylvania with a picture of their Pennsylvania factory. One tube factory out of dozens in the US. With a capacity of 300,000 units per day.

The Russians used a Rainbow. The Chinese cloned a Dyson.

Just married to Chinese gal fluent in English. When I asked her about the website / tubes she said, "O, this again....." :roll:
