DPDT Push/Pull Pots source

Post by Guitarman18 »

I'm trying to find a DPDT Push/Pull pot for my most recent build, but ideally I want it to be 24mm , which used to be available but I'm having no luck trying to find a source, rather than the 16mm. It needs to be 250K or more.

I'll be using it in the tone stack of an ODS build.

Any recommendations will be gratefully received.

Cheers,

Paul.

Sadly, these will be hard to find. Fender used to use them and CTS still lists them, but you'd need to order a ridiculous quantity. Maybe try searching for Fender Amp push-pull pots. The SPST ones are available, but the DPDT ones I haven't seen for awhile

Only ones I could find a couple of years ago were 16mm but they did work fine. However, SPST are available and if necessary one could be used to control a relay.

Thanks for the replies. I will probably go for the 16mm pots, but I wanted to check that I wasn't missing anything. I like the idea of the relay controler.
Thanks again.
Cheers, Paul.

We use the CTS single pole on the Jim Kelley amps.
Yeah we had to buy a shitload to get the prices reasonable
There is the small form factor though that are available as DPDt we use on guitars. You can try Allparts

I just received a few of these - 3/8" bushing and very high quality:

I've used the 16mm pots. I just wrap a little bare wire around the bushing to get the pot centered in the hole.

Thanks for all the responses. I've gone with the 16mm Bourns push/pull switches and it works well for my needs. The sweep has a reasonable amount of resistance, so it compares favorably to the 24mm pots in feel. Hard to tell if it sounds any different in the mid pot position, especially as I've changed things around as a result of putting in the new pot.

Thanks again,

Paul.
