musicman 212HD combo
There is a big volume drop in channel 2 reverb/tremolo side compared to channel 1 VTMB side. Chassis is on bench so reverb is not connected. Should I reconnect the reverb?
Anyone know why?

You do not need the Verb tank in circuit as it gets mixed in just like on a TR or what have you.
If the channel has not been recapped yet then now souls be the time as a first step, as should the power supply .
The IC chips in this amp are getting hard and expensive to get if the issue turns out to be that.

If it comes down to a bad IC there are these adaptors http://cimarrontechnology.com/to-99to8- ... 20601.aspx.
At least I think they are the ones I used, mount some dip8 sockets on top and use an LM307 or such. See here... http://www.pacair.com/discus/messages/22/593.html.

Thanks for the replies I have a lot reading to do but it has good info.
The amp on my bench has the 12AX7 PI.

The amps with the tube PI are by far the better sounding ones, but they all still have a class B type output stage.
There is a lot of plate voltage in these amps so be sure to drain off the power supply with the standby switch!g
Aldo be sure that the 16 volt plus and minus preamp supply is pretty even, if not one of the Zener regulator diodes may be going south !
