TW iron in a high-gain Marshall-inspired build?
Has anyone used TW iron in a higher-gain Marshall style amp (with at least 2204 preamp gain)? If so, how did it work out? How did it change the Marshall tone?

Not done it, but my guess is it is going to sound like a Marshall with lower plate voltage.....

the amp that I play all the OD clips is a 20 watt 2204 that I built using Classictone TW OT. Worked really well IMO:

I built a JCM800 2204 with TW PT and TW Dynaclone A470-S 4k3 OT kicks ass even with the lower plate voltage.

Like the guys say, 370 - 400 volts works wonders for a 2204 type circuit.
Up to 6k sounds good for the OT imho.
TW iron works great - lots of power on demand.

After extensive testing germino started using wreck style OTs in his new low-watt plexi.
