Thin/small Lock washers for pots power switches.

Post by RockinRocket »

Any one have a source for small thin lock washers?

Pec pots uses a thin smaller internal tooth washer while CTS use very big/thick washers.
NKK switches use the same thin small internal tooth washer but for a larger bushing for a switch.

I need all the extra bushing length I can get for the Nut .. Small is needed in this application for the pots.

I keep a bone yard of junk electronics for exactly that purpose, purchasing them seems silly.

I get them at Home Depot or the local Ace hardware.

You must have a better selection at your local hardware!

My last order for those nice small 1/2" internal lock washers part number SLW-716 Footswitch/Toggle Switch Lock washer qty: 20 each from www.amprepairparts.com
but I just checked and did not find them.

I need some more too. So much nicer then the lumbar store large 1/2" size.

Studio Sound Electronics replied and said they no longer stock those 1/2" serrated washers for switches due to lack of sales interest.

They recommend Small Bears http://www.smallbear-electronics.mybigc ... -serrated/

Thanks fellas!
Looks like I should be ale to find what I need.
No more loose power switches. I find it odd most power standby switches dont come with a lock washer..

I like how small they are, work great, and don't stick out all over the place. I mostly use Fender style bat toggle switches or those used in my Trainwreck builds.

Yep me too Mark. Very nice fit and the ones I pulled off of the NKK switches were a great fit now that Ive used them. The big .75" or bigger ones I find at home depot are not a bushing tight fit. The Nkks are not noticeable at all and work great.

I bought 100 of em at Big bear for 8$! Thats a crazy good deal.
Now I got to figure out which ones are the correct one for the CTS pots Aurora has linked me.

My mistake, I've only found the larger toothed, not the thinner washers you are seeking at the places I mentioned. I missed the title of the thread and just looked at the pictures. My apologies.

I received my Small Bear internal 1/2" thin outer radius washers $8 for 100 and they are exactly what I have been using prior so I'm stocked for life.
