Hello,
I found a very good output transformer for my champ cause i d like to upgrade it.
The only problem is the primary impedance which is 5k when all the OT i have seen for this amp are 8k.
Would you use it anyway?

It would most probably give too much 2nd harmonic.
You could try it and play with the PSU to lower the voltage, increase the current through the tube and find a sweet spot for that tube.
Another option could be to install an EL34 to fully use the 5k instead of the 8k, if the PT can give enough current.

I wanted to try the el34, this could be the best of both worlds
How do i know if the pt has enough juice?

Re: Output Transformer primary impedence
Basically everything will have to double. You will want twice the idle current, and it will produce twice the output power. That means your output transformer will have to be upgraded as well.
