Well, a pre-CBS Super is a great amp, no doubt about it. Judging from the pics, this one's had minimal service. The cathode caps are stock, as are the blue Astrons in the tone stacks. The coupling cap on the reverb return may not be, but that's not a big deal. The bias cap is stock, and definitely should be replaced, should you buy the amp.

I would suspect that the filter caps are stock, too.

So, if all that's the case, you need to invest a wee bit of money into a cap job. After that, you'd have an amp that would work great for 45 more years. The speakers may be another matter all together. If they work properly, I'd recommend taking them out and saving them for reselling the amp.

Looks pretty kosher. Unmolested. Yup, it's worth it. I have seen 64 DeLuxe at $2,200 so yes that is not a bad price.

Them Super Verbs will hit the vintage bug and go up and down
3 or 4 times in the next few years. They are one of the best
Blackface fenders next to the Deluxe and the Twin.
