No "F" word? I am speechless!!!
I believe in this and it's tested by research...

What bugs me more is when people say "F that", like not saying all of the word makes it any better...fuckin' pussies!
Best comment yet. To be honest, Grohl, Corey Taylor, Ozzy and a few others probably over-egg the pudding, but it doesn't particularly bother me. I loved the Ce-Lo song, and this one's pretty good too.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ocDlOD1Hw9k

Perfect educational clip for this thread. "Fuck" never sounded so...classy! Proof positive that when used sparingly, this word is quite effective and versatile. Grammar was never this fun in school. I can't believe this thread is still going. FML!

Living where I do, I don't get to go to many live concerts, but as a born northerner, I'm quite used to "colourful language". One of our local comedians released a book some years ago, which raised a rather heated debate about our "northern language", particularly annoying the religous crowds of various directions. In this context a comment was posted by one of our regional newspaper editors, that " True evil have always spoken a particularly polite and articulate language" !

I am actually more concerned about all the B-class movies and TV series, where most of the dialog is given seemingly without any words of normal content and meaning.......
quite a lot of our youngsters seem to find this as being extremely cool.......

Has anyone seen this show with this comedian/educator? guy?

He tells this tale about English archers being captured by the French and their "plucking" finger (the middle one) chopped off so they could no longer shoot an arrow....

So some of these guys escaped or were set free and to taunt the French they would flip them the middle finger and yell "I can still pluck yew"

Meaning they could still pull an arrow (yew being the type of wood the bow is made of).

With a little twist of translation one could see this becoming "F#ck You"

Now I was never clear if this guy was just having a laugh or if he was showing the humorous side of word history or what but to date that is one of the best (if the only) origin tale I know of.

pretty funny... "Pluck yew, pluck yew, I can still pluck yew" Love it!

The definitive work on this subject is probably "The F Word" by Jesse Sheidlower: http://www.jessesword.com/fword/

I think the point is to offend. When you got millions of bucks; how else can you get street cred with 15 yr olds?...Can't say it swings with me either, but I don't buy foo fighters anymore and could give a fark about the other two either so I guess my vote was already in....

I'm no prude, but profane language is similar to stinky flatulence in my book. Go do it in private or in the bathroom. We have enough smog... :D

I don't have a problem with words ... just the meanings behind them. 8)
